DPAs, with their expertise in AI’s impact on fundamental rights, are well-suited for supervising AI systems, particularly high-risk ones related to law enforcement and democratic processes.
The European Union AI Act, in its rightful name Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence and amending [several other regulations], was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 12 July 2024.
