Baden Wurtemberg DPA published a navigator for AI & data protection guidance (ONKIDA)

On 19 July 2024, the LfDI Baden-Württemberg announced the release of the ‘Navigator AI & Data Protection Guidance’ (ONKIDA). This tool serves as a comprehensive reference for regulatory documents related to artificial intelligence (AI) and data protection, aiming to support responsible bodies, such as authorities and companies, in understanding and adhering to GDPR requirements.

The tool features a matrix overview with:

  • Rows: Major data protection requirements relevant to AI applications involving personal data.
  • Columns: Guidance from various supervisory authorities on the interface between GDPR and AI. Each entry links to the original documents and specifies where the respective paper contains relevant statements.
